At Walnut Lab., we are an organization that operates without a hierarchical structure. Instead, we adopt the Advice Process model in our decision-making processes. This process requires any of our employees to follow two fundamental rules when making a decision:
Seeking expert opinion: Consult with people who have expertise on the decision topic. This ensures we make informed and knowledge-based decisions.
Communicating with those affected: Getting input from everyone who will be affected by the decision creates an inclusive decision-making process.
With us, instead of hierarchical approval mechanisms, each individual carries the responsibility of decision-making. In our organization, every employee can take initiative without any hierarchical structure. Decision-making power is distributed, but the person who initiates the consultation process makes the final decision. This allows us to move quickly while creating a collaborative culture where everyone's contribution matters.
